Privacy and Cookie Policy (the "Policy")

Wood Mackenzie Limited ("Wood Mackenzie" or "we" or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of those who subscribe to, or use, its products and services as well as those with whom it otherwise has dealings in connection with its business ("you" or "your").

Wood Mackenzie is registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and aims to comply with that Act in all its dealings with your personal information.

2. WOOD MACKENZIE'S GROUP

Wood Mackenzie is part of a group of companies. Accordingly the personal information we hold about you may be made available to any or all of our Group Companies. Some of these Group Companies are established or operate outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and accordingly sharing this information with those companies will involve us transferring your personal information outside the EEA. In this Policy "Group Companies" means our subsidiaries, our holding company and the subsidiaries of our holding company.

(a) to carry out our obligations arising from any contracts entered into between you or your employer and us;
(b) to contact you to provide you with information about the products and services we offer from time to time;

(c) to contact you to provide you with information in relation to those areas of interest that you identified in your Preferences or User Profile web page;
(If you wish to change the areas of interest you identified in your Preferences or User Profile web page, you may do so by visiting your User Profile web page).
(d) if you have requested information by clicking on a "Register your Interest" button, to contact you to provide you with the information requested and to obtain your preferences for further contact between us;
(e) to contact you to provide you with invitations to conferences or other events or with information relating to us or our Group or our business, which we believe may be of interest to you;
(f) for the purpose of checking and confirming your password. Such information may include details of your operating system, browser version, domain name and internet provider's address, and details of the website you were using in order to access Wood Mackenzie's website.

4.2. Wood Mackenzie gathers personal information about your usage of the Wood Mackenzie website to enable it to prepare statistics on website usage. These statistics may be used by Wood Mackenzie for the following purposes:-

(a) to enable Wood Mackenzie to address issues, pertaining to client satisfaction and value for money;
(b) to enable Wood Mackenzie to provide this information to client companies for their own purposes;
(c) to confirm that the level of use is within the boundaries permitted by its agreements with its subscribers/you; and
(d) to form management decisions regarding the future development of its websites.

5. DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Wood Mackenzie and its Group Companies will not disclose any of your personal information to third parties except as follows:

5.1. To third parties who are providing services to Wood Mackenzie and who require to have such information for that purpose. This includes for example the third party service providers referred to in Section 3 of this Policy above. It also includes other processors, for example where you choose to order certain maps or reports from Wood Mackenzie, we require to provide your name, address and payment details to our third party processors in order to facilitate the delivery of those maps and/or reports;

5.2. To the prospective buyer of any Wood Mackenzie business or assets which we are considering selling;

5.3. To the purchaser of the assets of Wood Mackenzie or any Wood Mackenzie Group Company if those assets are sold; or

5.4. As may be required to comply with law or for the purposes of fraud protection or credit risk reduction.

6. USE OF COOKIES

A "cookie" is software that can be sent to and stored in a user's PC by a website which the user visits and which collects information about the user. The cookies Wood Mackenzie's website uses are as follows:-

(a) a number of cookies which are strictly necessary to maintain essential functionality on the site and hence to allow users to use the site; and
(b) a cookie which stores your login details (email address and password) so that you do not need to enter your login details every time you visit and so makes access to our website quicker. Wood Mackenzie will only place this cookie on your computer if you ask us to activate this functionality by selecting “Remember Me” on the Wood Mackenzie portal. When you do that your login details will be stored in a cookie held on your computer.

However it cannot guarantee the security of any data it collects and stores.

8. HYPERLINKS

Where Wood Mackenzie's website provides links to other websites, it is not responsible for such other websites or their privacy policies, and you should check the privacy policies of such other websites if you have any concerns about them.

9. RIGHT OF ACCESS

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the right to request, in writing, access to any personal information or details which Wood Mackenzie holds about you. Wood Mackenzie shall comply with your request, in accordance with its obligations under the Act, provided you have paid Wood Mackenzie the necessary access fee and Wood Mackenzie is satisfied as to your identity.

10. LEGAL OBLIGATIONS

Wood Mackenzie may have obligations under certain legislation to check the identity of users of its website and in such circumstances it may need to make enquiries and obtain information from you for that purpose. You confirm that all information you supply to Wood Mackenzie will be accurate and you accept and agree that Wood Mackenzie may pass on such information as it considers necessary to comply with any legal/reporting obligations it has or may have from time to time.

11. CHANGES TO THE POLICY

Wood Mackenzie may from time to time post changes to the Policy. In such instances, Wood Mackenzie will post such changes on this page of its website and Wood Mackenzie would invite you to review this Policy from time to time in order to keep abreast of any changes to it.
